Drop in number of victims in Johor, increase in Sarawak

KUALA LUMPUR: The number of flood victims at relief centres (PPS) in Johor dropped to 3,118 people on Monday afternoon while in Sarawak, the number increased to 40 people.

He said the flood situation in the Kulai district has improved and all the victims were allowed to return home as the flood water in their residential areas had receded completely.

In Sarawak, 40 people including 20 evacuated from Rumah Leo and Rumah Alice Jimmy in the Kanowit district have been placed at two PPS – Dewan Serbaguna Nanga Ngungun and Dewan Kompleks Sukan Kanowit.

"The order to open the second PPS (Dewan Kompleks Sukan Kanowit) was issued by Kanowit District Officer Jackline August at 11.30am,” said the Sarawak JPBN Secretariat in a statement, Bernama reported.
