Ampang abuse case: Police seize blunt objects from dead 7-year-old's mother, boyfriend


AMPANG JAYA: Several blunt objects were seized following the arrest of a mother and her boyfriend, who are suspected of abusing her seven-year-old biological child in Taman Bukit Ampang here on Friday (Jan 10).

Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Azam Ismail stated that the blunt objects were seized for further investigation related to the incident.

"Several blunt objects were seized during the arrest.

"However, to confirm whether the objects were used as weapons that resulted in the victim's death depends on expert reports later," he said in a brief statement on Sunday (Jan 12).

Previously, Malay language daily Sinar Harian reported that a young boy was believed to have died as a result of abuse by his mother and her boyfriend in Taman Bukit Ampang here on Friday.

Mohd Azam said the boy was believed to have been abused by his biological mother and her boyfriend at home.

He stated that the victim suffered injuries, such as bruises on the face, neck, hands, and legs, suspected to have been caused by repeated beatings with hard and blunt objects.

Elaborating further, Mohd Azam said that they detained the woman and her boyfriend, aged 25 and 36, at 5:15pm on the same day.
