Man dies following Johor accident involving car and motorcycle


JOHOR BARU: A 43-year-old man has died following an accident involving a car and a motorcycle at KM8 Jalan Johor Bahru–Air Hitam.

Johor Baru North OCPD Asst Comm Balveer Singh said the accident occurred on December 28 at 8.50am.

"According to a police report lodged the same day by a 32-year-old man, the accident happened when a motorcycle, ridden by a 43-year-old man, suddenly switched lanes from right to left,” he said,

ACP Balveer added that the car driven by the complainant struck the motorcyclist from behind and said that that the motorcyclist sustained severe head and left-hand injuries while the car’s driver was unharmed.

Despite receiving treatment at Sultanah Aminah Hospital, the victim succumbed to his injuries on Saturday (Jan 4) at 5.42pm.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
