MCMC-hosted digital future conference kicks off on Jan 7

PETALING JAYA: As Malaysia’s digital landscape evolves rapidly, staying informed about emerging technologies and regulations has become a core necessity in this modern era.

Malaysians can seize this opportunity at the International Regulatory Conference (IRC) 2025, which kicks off on Jan 7.

The two-day event will convene global regulators, industry leaders and experts as they delve into challenges in the ever-changing digital environment and explore solutions.

With the theme “Leaping into the Quantum Frontier: Regulation and Innovation in the Tech Era,” IRC 2025 will feature high-impact dialogues, fireside chats and keynote speeches from prominent figures, including Digital Nasional Bhd chief operating officer Nasution Mohamed and National Cyber Security Agency chief executive officer Dr Megat Zuhairy Megat Tajuddin.

Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil is set to deliver the welcoming speech on the first day.

“IRC 2025 will provide a unique platform for stakeholders to exchange insights, networking and chart strategies for a resilient and sustainable technological future.

“Discussions will explore topics such as innovation in regulation, international cooperation and the transformative role of technology across key sectors,” according to the conference’s website.

Dialogues on cybersecurity, technology for food security, healthcare, logistics and global green energy transition are also scheduled for the event.

Hosted by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission, IRC 2025 will take place at the Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur from 8.30am to 5.15pm on both days.
