SEREMBAN: A motorist who noticed a loose tyre on a nearby lorry took prompt action to alert the driver of the heavy vehicle to prevent any untoward incident.

Kamarul Ekhsan Abdul Ghani made four attempts to overtake the lorry along the south-bound North-South Expressway from Seremban.

In his final attempt, Kamarul Ekhsan stuck his head out the car window while shouting to get the lorry driver’s attention.

He was commended by Bukit Aman Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department on their official Facebook page yesterday.

The department noted that the brave act by Kamarul Ekhsan had helped to prevent a serious accident.

It added that the incident had gone viral after a video of it was uploaded online on Wednesday.

According to the post, Kamarul Ekhsan was driving along the highway when he noticed a lorry with a loose tyre on the right side of the vehicle.

“He then decided to drive past the lorry to signal and alert the driver of the loose tyre, leading him to stop the vehicle on the emergency lane,” the post added.

During a ceremony held at the Seremban district police headquarters yesterday, department director Comm Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri presented a letter of appreciation to Kamarul Ekhsan.
