Serdang cops dispose of case items worth RM1.8mil

SERDANG: Serdang police on Friday (Dec 27) disposed of case items worth RM1.8mil, including gambling equipment and contraband goods.

Serdang district police chief ACP A. Anbalagan said they included 353,400 case items involving 336 investigation papers completed between 2016 and 2023.

"The items disposed of include 168 laptops, 59 tablets, 32 modems and routers, 14 simulator machines and 612 other gambling-related items, as well as 352,515 boxes of cigarettes from various brands," he told a press conference here on Friday.

Petaling Jaya Sessions Court Judge Noor Ruzilawati Mohd Nor was also present.

Anbalagan said the disposal was conducted in compliance with the Inspector-General of Police’s Standing Order (PTKPN D207) and legal provisions under Section 407A of the Criminal Procedure Code.

"This indirectly helps reduce maintenance costs and resolve storage space limitations for case items," he added. - Bernama
