Senior citizen loses RM10,130 in home robbery


KLUANG: A 67-year-old woman suffered a loss amounting to RM10,130 following a robbery at her home in Taman Intan, here.

Kluang OCPD Asst Comm Bahrin Mohd Noh said that the incident occurred on Dec 6 at 3am when the victim was sleeping in the living room.

“The victim woke up to see an unidentified individual wearing a mask approaching her.

“The suspect gestured for her to remain silent and not scream before covering her mouth with his hand.

“The suspect forcibly removed two gold bracelets and a gold necklace from the victim, which she was wearing during the incident,” he said in a statement here on Wednesday (Dec 11).

Additionally, the suspect took the victim's handbag, which was placed under a bed in the living room.

The bag contained approximately RM2,000 in cash, four gold rings, and five stone rings of unknown type.

“The incident took place in a two-storey terrace house where the victim had lived for 22 years. At the time of the incident, she was alone at home.

“The suspect, described as slim and approximately 155cm tall, was wearing a face mask and gloves. No weapon was used during the robbery,” he added.

The case is being investigated under Section 392 of the Penal Code for robbery.
