Kluang woman nabbed for splashing hot water on 10-year-old daughter

KLUANG: A 32-year-old woman was arrested for allegedly splashing her 10-year-old daughter with hot water at their house in Kampung Tengah, here.

Kluang OCPD Asst Comm Bahrin Mohd Noh said the incident was brought to light after the headmaster of the victim lodged a police report.

“On Nov 28, the headmaster was informed that one of the students in her school had suffered a serious scalding injury on her back.

“Further examination of the victim's body found a bruise on the right leg, a burn mark on the left leg, and a punch mark on the left cheek resulting in a bruise,” he said in a statement here on Tuesday (Dec 3).

ACP Bahrin added that investigations revealed that the incident had occurred on Nov 26 at the victim’s house.

“Based on the information provided, a team of police have arrested a 32-year-old housewife in Kampung Tengah,” he said, adding that a background check revealed that the woman has no priors.

He added that based on the hospital medical report, the victim had suffered “alleged child abuse by biological mother, sustained well-healed burn injury over back".

The suspect is currently under remand for six days from Dec 3 until Dec 8.
