Johor sees slight increase in flood victims


JOHOR BARU: The number of flood victims in Johor has slightly increased to 449 people from 135 families at 4pm compared to 425 people from 127 families at 8am on Saturday (Nov 30).

The state disaster management committee said all of the victims have been relocated to 10 temporary relief centres in Segamat and Tangkak.

“As of 4 pm, there are 311 victims from 94 families placed at three relief centres in Tangkak.

“While in Segamat, there are 138 victims from 41 families placed at seven relief centres,” the committee said in a statement.

The operating relief centre in Tangkak is at SK Bukit Rahmat with 167 victims, followed by Sekolah Agama Bandar (95) and SK Abdullah (49).

While in Segamat, the relief centres are Dewan Komuniti Kampung Tasek (45), Balairaya Kampung Batu Badak (40), Balairaya Kampung Awat (15), Balairaya Kampung Paya Lebar (13), Balairaya Kampung Bukit Tunggal (10), Balairaya Kampung Jabi (8), and Balai Islam Kampung Gubah (7).
