Go all-out to fight disinformation, Hajiji tells GRS parties

KOTA KINABALU: Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) component parties must go all out to fight off disinformation tactics used by the Opposition, says Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.

The GRS chairman said this amidst allegations of Sabah assemblymen linked to the issuance of mining licences.

Hajiji, who is also Sabah Chief Minister, said the GRS-Pakatan Harapan Plus government had gone through many challenges over the past four years.

He said they not only managed to weather those storms but came out stronger.

"But there is another challenge which really tests our resilience. The Opposition and their allies are colluding to bring down the GRS-Pakatan Plus government by spreading slander.

"We must fight it all-out as it can poison the people's minds and instil hate against the government," he said at the launch of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) annual general meeting here on Sunday (Nov 17).

Hajiji also said he believed LDP, as one of the parties backing GRS, would be able to play an important role to counter their rivals' unscrupulous tactics.

GRS also comprises anchor party Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (Gagasan Rakyat) of which Hajiji is president, Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS), Sabah STAR, Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP), United Sabah National Organisation (Usno), Parti Harapan Rakyat Sabah (Harapan Rakyat) and Parti Cinta Sabah (PCS) led by Tan Sri Anifah Aman.

Hajiji said that 2025 was an election year for Sabah and they would continue to offer the current GRS-Pakatan Plus formula to the people.

"This will allow us to extend the legacy of success and excellence that we have built since taking over the administration in September 2020," said Hajiji.
