Cops nab woman who beat up neighbour in Tawau

KOTA KINABALU: A woman who allegedly trespassed into her neighbour’s house at Batu 4, Jalan Apas, Tawau, and attacked the latter has been arrested.

The victim, who was said to have been beaten by the suspect, sustained injuries on both her arms.

Tawau OCPD Asst Comm Jasmin Hussin said based on the initial probe, the suspect had accused the victim of badmouthing her and spreading rumours that she (suspect) was having an affair.

This caused the suspect to get aggressive by damaging the neighbour’s zinc fencing and beating the victim until she sustained injuries on both arms, he said.

The victim had been neighbours of the suspect and her husband for two years, he said.

ACP Jasmin said following the incident, a police report was lodged and the suspect was nabbed.

She is now under remand for probes under trespassing and causing hurt while a manhunt has also been mounted for her husband, he said.

“We found that the suspect had a previous conviction relating to gambling,” he said.

It is understood that the victim is now recuperating from the minor injuries after getting outpatient treatment at the hospital.
