Cops raid call centre operated by syndicate, Chinese nationals arrested


PETALING JAYA: A call centre operated by a scam syndicate has been busted after a raid saw the arrest of over a dozen Chinese nationals.

Selangor deputy police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Sasikala Devi Subramaniam, in a statement on Thursday (Nov 7) said that the raid was conducted at a house in Hulu Kelang on Oct 29.

A total of 14 Chinese nationals were arrested during the raid.

Hundreds of electrical devices, including 151 handphones, were seized during the raid as well.

Investigations showed that all suspects had been acting as "customer service agents" for the syndicate.

DCP Sasikala added that all suspects were currently remanded under the Immigration Act 1959/63.
