Bukit Aman denies claims of inaction in document fraud case

PETALING JAYA: Bukit Aman has refuted allegations of inaction in their investigation into a case involving the falsification a of land title document in Kedah

Bukit Aman Commercial Crime Investigation Department (CCID) director Comm Datuk Seri Ramli Mohamed Yoosuf said in a statement on Thursday (Nov 7) that the department had been informed of the claim made in a TikTok video by an account named "abuismailabuyaziz."

The video asserted that the IPD Kota Setar CCID chief "had refused to open an investigation over a fake judgement."

"The account holder claimed that the police did not conduct investigations in a forgery case despite a police report," he said.

Comm Ramli said that the case itself, which was linked to a police report in Kuala Kedah on Nov 1 2021, had been opened on the same day following the report.

"The document was investigated, and a sample of the complainant's signature was sent to the Chemistry Department for analysis. However, the department confirmed that no match could be made as the sample given was insufficient and that the complainant had refused to send additional samples," he said.

The case was then referred to the deputy public prosecutor's office.

"On April 20 2022, the case was closed with NFA (no further action).

"Regarding the newest police report on Sept 15, regarding the existence of fake court order documents, the police have conducted checks and received confirmation from the court that the order in question was indeed legitimate.

"This shows that the allegations of a false judgement as stated by the account holder on TikTok were untrue and malicious," he said.

Ramli emphasised that the investigation was carried out in accordance with the law, and the decision to close the case was made by the Attorney-General's Chambers, based on the document analysis and investigative findings.

"Just because the decision did not favour the complainant, it is unfair to label the investigating authorities as evil or cruel. The public is advised to refrain from drawing conclusions based on inaccurate information,” he said.

Checks showed that the account holder had deleted his account on TikTok.
