Body of missing fisherman found in Kota Tinggi


KOTA TINGGI: The body of a 26-year-old fisherman who went missing at Sungai Kampung Sayang in Kuala Sedili here has been found.

Kota Tinggi OCPD Supt Yusof Othman said the body was found at 10.10am on Tuesday (Nov 5) by the search and rescue team about 500m from the operations control post at the Sungai Sayang jetty.

“The victim was reported missing at 12.46pm on Sunday (Nov 3) after his fishing boat sank," he said in a statement.

Supt Yusof added that the man’s mother identified the body.

The man's remains have been taken to the Hospital Kota Tinggi Forensic Unit for a post-mortem, he said.
