Housewife dies from hornet sting in Sungai Petani


SUNGAI PETANI: A housewife has died after being stung by a hornet at her house in Taman Semarak, Sungai Pasir here on Sunday (Nov 3).

Kuala Muda OCPD Asst Comm Wan Azharuddin Wan Ismail said the 61-year-old woman died while being rushed to Sultan Abdul Halim Hospital.

"On Nov 3 at about 8pm, the victim's son reached home and found his mother in pain. He was informed by the victim that she had been stung by a hornet," he said in a statement on Monday (Nov 4).

ACP Wan Azharuddin said the victim's son requested emergency help, and an ambulance was dispatched from the hospital.

He said the victim was pronounced dead in the ambulance en route to the hospital.

"Investigation also found that there is no criminal element in the incident," said ACP Wan Azharuddin.
