Tenggara Bersatu division chief, committee members exit party

KOTA TINGGI: Tenggara Bersatu chief Hassan Rasid and division committee members announced their departure from the party on Saturday (Oct 2).

He said the decision was made after considering several critical issues, including his growing lack of confidence in the party's top leadership, reported Sinar Harian.

"The three Srikandi branches, namely Bandar Tenggara Selatan, Pengeli Timur and Pelepah Valley, were excluded from the Tenggara Division Srikandi division delegates meeting on Oct 26. At the same time, the Tenggara Division Srikandi Committee has been suspended from convening.

"At 6.30pm the day before yesterday, we received a WhatsApp message cancelling the three branches' participation in today's elections.

"The branches involved are Kota Jaya Selatan, Bandar Tenggara Selatan, and Sungai Telor. We received an official letter from management yesterday," he said at a press conference at Dewan Sri Teratai, Batu 4 here on Saturday (Nov 2).

According to him, five police reports were lodged by himself, the Bandar Tenggara Bersatu branch, Tenggara Selatan Bersatu branch, Pelepah Valley Bersatu branch, and Pengeli Timur Bersatu branch regarding the management issues.

He explained that the division has 19 branches with 1,263 members.

About 200 Bersatu Divisions across the country held elections on Saturday.
