Nearly RM11mil worth of syabu seized from double-storey house in Puchong

SUBANG JAYA: Some 329.5kg of syabu worth almost RM11mil has been seized following raids in Sri Petaling and Puchong.

Two men aged 30 and 34, were also nabbed in the operation held on Oct 25.

Bukit Aman Narcotic Crime Investigation Department (NCID) director Comm Datuk Seri Khaw Kok Chin said the raiding team made the first arrest on the 34-year-old man in Bandar Baru Sri Petaling at about 10.50pm on Oct 25.

"We stopped the vehicle driven by the suspect and apprehended him.

"We made a second arrest on his 30-year-old accomplice on Jalan Puchong Jaya at 11.30pm on the same night," he told reporters at Subang Jaya district police headquarters on Tuesday (Oct 29).

Both suspects then directed the raiding team to a double-storey house in Bandar Baru Bukit Puchong, where the drugs were stored, he added.

"We seized 319 packets of herbal tea, filled with syabu, as well as two weighing machines.

"The drugs are worth RM10.9mil, and believed to be for the local market," he said.

Comm Khaw said both men detained were runners for the syndicate.

"The younger suspect was paid between RM7,000 and RM8,000 monthly while the other suspect was paid RM5,000 a month,” he said.

He said the syndicate has been active since early this year.

"They rented the house for RM1,800 a month since September. We believe they were using the house for drug storage," he said.

Both suspects have been remanded until Friday (Nov 1), Comm Khaw said.

"Both suspects tested negative for drugs and they had prior criminal records.

"We also seized two cars along with jewellery belonging to the suspects worth RM70,270," he said.

Comm Khaw said the police will investigate further to uncover the rest of the syndicates, including the mastermind.

"We will also investigate the source of the drugs," he said.

The drugs seized could have been supplied to 1.65 million addicts, Comm Khaw said.

"We are determined to combat the drug menace effectively.

"We urge the public to work with us in supplying relevant information by contacting the NCID hotline at 012-2087222.
