Two suspects arrested over death of 4-year-old boy


BINTULU: A woman and a man have been arrested in connection with the death of a four-year-old boy here last Tuesday (Oct 8).

Without providing details about the arrests, Bintulu district police chief Supt Nixon Joshua Ali said the suspects, aged 28 and 34 respectively, have been remanded for seven days.

According to him, the victim was taken from the Sungai Setiam area to Hospital Bintulu before his death was reported at about 7.50pm.

"Initial investigations found injuries to the victim's head and waist,” he said in a statement on Thursday (Oct 17).

He said the case has been classified under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

He also advised the public not to speculate on the case as this could create anxiety.
