Two suspected of murdering Felcra retiree appear in Jitra Court


KUBANG PASU - Thursday morning saw the arrival of the two suspects linked to the murder of 62-year-old Felcra retiree Sabari Baharom at the at the Jitra Court here.

The individuals are aged 26 and 38 and reached the court at 8.15am, masked and escorted by a heavy police presence.

The victim's family, including his daughter Suraiya Izzati, 29, and brother Ismail Baharom, 69, attended the hearing.

Suraiya was seen in tears as the suspects were led into the building.

Prior to this, Kedah police chief Datuk Fisol Salleh said on Wednesday (Oct 16) that the two would be charged with murder under Section 302 of the Penal Code, alongside Section 34 of the same Act

Previously, the media reported Sabari as missing since September 4; his residence was in Kampung Mengkuang Tengah, Kuala Pegang, Baling, and his burned vehicle was later discovered in Belantik, Sik, on September 20.

Following the arrest of the suspects, the police determined that Sabari had been thrown into the Padang Terap River close to Kampung Empa, Wang Tepus, Jitra, with his hands bound and mouth taped.
