IPOH: A Bangladeshi worker was found dead near the shared residence where he lived in Teluk Intan.
Perak police chief Datuk Comm Azizi Mat Aris said the 27-year-old man's body was found close to some bushes around 10am on Wednesday (Oct 10).
He added the victim had neck injuries and wounds on other parts of his body.
"Three housemates of the victim aged between 32 and 39 have been taken in to help with the investigation," said Comm Azizi.
Their mobile phones have been taken by the police, and the motive of the killing and the identity of the killer are still unknown.
"In the shared residence at Taman Lagenda - where building work is happening - 34 workers are staying," he explained at a press briefing at the state police headquarters on Wednesday (Oct 10).
The three were arrested because they were last seen with the victim.
"They said they searched for the victim to join them for prayers after their meal at 8.30pm, but he was nowhere to be found," he said.
The body has been brought to the Teluk Intan Hospital for a post-mortem to find out how he died and what weapon was used.
"The police are looking for the murder weapon, and we will check the suspects' phones for any sign of a dispute," he added.
