OK to park on road in front of hospital but don't block traffic, say Ipoh cops

IPOH: The police will allow vehicles to park along both sides of the road front of Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun – as long as traffic is not obstructed, say police.

However, Ipoh OCPD Asst Comm Abang Zainal Abidin Abang Ahmad said action would be taken if vehicles park in front of bus stops on Jalan Raja Ashman Shah, on the roundabout, or if they double-park.

"Ipoh police, together with Perak health committee chairman A. Sivanesan and Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun's deputy director Dr Mustafa Shawal Safian visited and inspected the area in front of the hospital," he said.

He added this was to address traffic congestion caused by cars parked in front of the hospital as there were limited parking spaces.

"After discussing and considering the safety of road users and traffic flow, the police decided not to enforce fines on any vehicles parked along Jalan Raja Ashman Shah in both directions, except for the situations mentioned above," he said in a statement on Tuesday (Oct 8).
