Kota Tinggi cops nab local man suspected of robbing female ehailing driver


KOTA TINGGI: Police have arrested a local man for allegedly robbing a female ehailing driver, which took place near a coastal area in Kuala Sedili here.

Kota Tinggi OCPD Supt Yusof Othman said a police report was lodged on last Saturday (Sept 26) involving a 52-year-old woman who was robbed along a road near Pantai Tanjung Buluh.

“In the robbery incident, the victim lost RM860. Following information received, police successfully arrested a local man in his 30s at a house in Taman Daiman Jaya here at around 4.30pm on Tuesday (Oct 1).

“Police also seized a mobile phone together with a shirt and short pants the suspect allegedly wore during the robbery,” he said here on Wednesday (Oct 2).

Supt Yusof also said police found a transparent plastic packet, which contains drug believed to be syabu, hidden inside the suspect’s wallet during the arrest.

“The suspect, who has a criminal record, also tested positive for methamphetamine and is currently being remanded until this Monday (Oct 7) to assist with the investigations,” he added.
