Teen killed after motorbike crashes into vehicle in Johor


KULAI: An 18-year-old was killed after his motorcycle crashed into the back of a vehicle at Jalan Persiaran Indahpura, here.

Kulai OCPD Supt Tan Seng Lee said the incident occurred at 12.50am on Monday (Sept 23).

“Our initial investigation revealed that the victim was riding his motorcycle towards the Johor Premium Outlet location and was unaware of a jeep that stopped in front of him.

“The rider failed to evade the vehicle and crashed into the back of the jeep and was flung onto the road,” he said in a statement here on Monday (Sept 23).

He added that the victim suffered a serious head injury and was pronounced dead at the scene.

“The body was taken to the Temenggong Seri Maharaja Tun Ibrahim Hospital while the driver of the car, a 30-year-old man, was uninjured,” he added.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
