Thirteen horses in Terengganu found with GISB brand

KUALA TERENGGANU: Thirteen horses at an equestrian facility linked to GISB Holdings Sdn Bhd (GISB) in Kampung Mengabang Panjang, Kuala Nerus had brands which featured the company logo.

Terengganu Islamic Affairs Department enforcement division chief assistant commissioner Aizi Saidi Abdul Aziz said police saw the logo branded on the horses' forelegs during a raid on Saturday (Sept 21).

The facility is located in front of a walled bungalow by the beach, rented by GISB followers.

"I went there again today but it was locked. The horses were no longer there and there is no information yet on who took them," he told Bernama when contacted on Sunday (Sept 22).

Meanwhile, he said the department had identified several premises allegedly associated with the group, including in Kuala Terengganu, Kuala Nerus and Setiu.

"They were raided, including a hostel in Kuala Terengganu, but we still have no information if it is a charity home housing children of GISB followers. The hostel was empty.

"The reports we have so far will be presented to the Terengganu Islamic Religion and Malay Customs Council (MAIDAM) on Monday (Sept 23)," he added.

Earlier, Terengganu mufti Datuk Mohamad Sabri Harun said the state would only issue a fatwa (edict) declaring GISB teachings as deviant if clear evidence is presented. – Bernama
