SEPANG: A female senior citizen was allegedly raped and robbed at an apartment building in Cyberjaya.
Sepang OCPD Asst Comm Wan Kamarul Azran Wan Yusuf said the 71-year-old victim lodged a police report on the incident at about 12.18am on Friday (Sept 13).
"She claimed she was raped by a foreign man at the apartment's stairs.
"The assailant also stole her purse and other belongings," he said in a statement on Friday.
Police managed to track down and arrest the 25-year-old suspect at about 12.20pm on Friday.
"He was arrested at a tower in Cyberjaya.
"We also recovered the stolen items," he said.
The suspect will be remanded on Saturday (Sept 14), he said.
"We urge the public not to speculate on the case or share fake news," he said.
