A MAN in Pakistan fitted a CCTV camera on the head of his daughter as a safety measure, Makkal Osai reported.
There has been a gamut of reactions from the public when a video emerged on social media, showing the young woman with the camera mounted above her head.
The woman, whose name and age were revealed, said her Karachi-hailed family had been concerned about the rising crime rate and that this is her father’s way of monitoring her when she is out and about.
It was not done as a joke but a move to ensure her safety, she said when interviewed by a local tabloid. The woman also said she was not resistant to the idea.
Some believed it to be a stunt or a social commentary on women’s lack of safety.
Others praised her father’s effort to keep her safe, while some branded it an extremely controlling act on his part.
