Construction workers die in Shah Alam landslide


PETALING JAYA: Two construction workers were buried following a landslide at a construction site in Shah Alam.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department director Wan Md Razali Wan Ismail said the incident occurred at about 10.29am on Monday (Sept 9) when the workers were building a drain at the location.

"A total of nine firemen from the Bukit Jelutong fire station were deployed and arrived at the scene at about 10.39am.

"Two workers were buried in the area due to the landslide," he said in a statement on Monday (Sept 9).

A worker's body was recovered from the wreckage around 11.12am while the body of the other worker was recovered at 11.35am, he said.
