Agriculture Dept warns of logo misuse to deceive companies

PETALING JAYA: The Agriculture Department says it views seriously the misuse of the department's logo to deceive companies into providing supplies and services.

It said such tactics by certain parties who submitted the purported “government orders” had resulted in companies suffering losses as there were no such requests for orders and services from the department.

"Such action will lead to a negative perception of the Agriculture Department as well as the Agriculture and Food Security Ministry by the community.

"As such the department would like to advise parties which are involved in supply and services to use the 'Sistem e-Perolehan and iGFMAS for every application," said the department in a statement on Monday (Sept 9).

It also urged the parties involved to contact the Agriculture Department before sending any supplies or providing services to avoid similar fraud cases from recurring.
