Woman killed in four-vehicle accident near Ipoh


IPOH: A 20-year-old woman was killed in a four-vehicle accident at KM 363.0 of the North-South Expressway near here on Saturday (Sept 7).

Perak Fire and Rescue Department assistant director (operations) Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad said that a car, two motorcycles and a five-ton lorry carrying furniture were involved in the 6.16am accident.

"There were seven victims, with one confirmed dead at the scene. The driver of the car was declared dead at the scene while the passenger was uninjured," he said.

Sabarodzi added that the lorry driver and one of the two attendants sustained minor injuries while the other was uninjured.

He added that one of the two motorcycle riders suffered serious injuries, while the other attendant sustained only light injuries.

"They were sent for medical treatment, while the body of the deceased was turned over to the police for further investigation," he added
