Kota Belud rescuers free six-year-old after leg gets trapped in kindy toilet bowl


KOTA KINABALU: A six-year-old boy endured two agonising hours after his leg became trapped in a toilet bowl at a kindergarten in Kampung Menungu, Kota Belud, on Friday (Sept 6).

Sabah Fire and Rescue Department operations centre officer Asst Supt of Fire Riki Mohan Singh Ramday said a team of eight was dispatched to the scene following a distress call at 10.44am.

“Upon arrival, the team found the boy’s right leg stuck inside the toilet bowl. Using specialised equipment, they managed to free his leg,” Riki said.

The boy, who sustained minor injuries, received immediate medical attention before being taken to Kota Belud Hospital by ambulance.

“The operation concluded at 12.52pm,” Riki added.
