Teen boy drowns in river in Perak, says Bomba

IPOH: A teenage boy was found to have drowned at Sungai Pecah Batu, Trong, near Taiping.

Perak Fire and Rescue Department assistant director (operations) Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad said the incident occurred on Saturday (Aug 31) at about 5.25pm.

"The 15-year-old victim was brought to land by the public before our personnel arrived.

"The operations chief tried providing Basic Life Support (BLS) and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) to the victim, but there was no response," he said in a statement on Saturday.

"The victim was then handed over to Health Ministry personnel, which confirmed the victim's death at the scene," he added.
