Church sex assault suspect held


PETALING JAYA: Police have arrested a church official after a teenager alleged that he had been sexually assaulted in a church.

Subang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Wan Azlan Wan Mamat said a report was lodged by the 13-year-old victim on Monday.

“The victim claimed that from June to July this year, he had been sexually assaulted by the suspect in a bedroom at a church in Puchong.

“Investigations led to the arrest of a suspect, aged 27, at a restaurant in Puchong.

“He has been remanded for four days until Aug 17,” he said in a statement.

As of now, ACP Wan Azlan said no other victims have been linked to the case.

Police have recorded statements from three people as part of their investigations.
