Man charged with killing eatery owner’s son


KOTA KINABALU: A man has been charged with killing the son of a local restaurant owner in Sandakan district last month.

Mohamad Zulfaizzie Hanafie Mohd Firdaus, 23, was charged along with two others, who are still at large, with murder at the Sandakan Magistrate’s Court yesterday.

Sandakan OCPD Asst Comm Abdul Fuad Abdul Malek said Mohamad Zulfaizzie understood the charge read out, but no plea was taken as the case had been set for a re-mention on Sept 10.

Acting Sandakan OCPD Supt Ramasamy Kuppan previously said police were hunting for three men to aid investigations after a body was found at an oil palm plantation in Sandakan on July 25.The victim was identified as Naufal Abdul Rashid, 35, who was reported missing on July 21.
