Teen poses as medic to assist in surgery

SEPANG: A 14-year-old girl was arrested a day after she was found inside an operating theatre claiming to be a medical officer who wanted to assist in a surgery.

Sepang OCPD Asst Comm Wan Kamarul Azran Wan Yusof said a report was lodged on Aug 7.

“On Aug 8 at around 8.30am, the hospital spotted the same individual who tried to register herself using a fake identity.

“The police were called and an arrest was made,” he said in a statement yesterday.

The teenager was caught at the lobby of the hospital and the police seized a medical scrub and a lanyard belonging to the hospital.

“The police urge the public to not speculate on the matter as well as to refrain from sharing false news on the matter,” he said.
