63-year-old singer promises to keep the show going

HONG KONG superstar Jacky Cheung, who has just returned to the stage after an illness, vowed to continue performing until he is 100 years old, reported Sin Chew Daily.

The 63-year-old was forced to cancel a series of concerts in Hangzhou, China, last month after falling ill and only returned to touring on Aug 2.

He apologised for his absence and said he had much to learn from 61-year-old table tennis player Ni Xialian, who could still compete in the Olympics.

“Although I am two years older, there is much I can learn from her,” he said.

Cheung added he would make it up to his fans for the cancelled dates and vowed to perform as long as his health permits.

Hui and Cheng were also seen holding hands in public.

Many fans speculated that the intimate moment was a sign that their relationship has recovered.

In 2019, Hui was caught kissing actress Jacqueline Chong in the back of a taxi.

The scandal grabbed headlines across Hong Kong press for several months and led to the two taking a hiatus from work.

> A concert organiser was slammed as being arrogant for appealing against an earlier court judgement which ordered partial refunds to nine attendees of a concert by Malaysian singer Fish Leong in Shanghai last year, the daily also reported.

On June 20, the Minhang District People’s Court in Shanghai sided with the plaintiffs who purchased tickets to Leong’s concert last year, only to find themselves in seats with the view blocked by pillars.

The organiser was ordered to make partial refunds ranging from 420 yuan to 910 yuan (RM263-RM570), representing 60-70% of the ticket prices.
