Man held for throwing brick onto moving car

KUALA LUMPUR: A 55-year-old man was detained for allegedly throwing a brick onto a moving car from a monorail station here.

Dang Wangi acting OCPD Supt Nuzulan Mohd Din said the man was detained at about 5.30pm on Saturday.

“He was detained near the monorail station. He has been remanded until Tuesday,” he said yesterday, adding that the man would be sent to Hospital Kuala Lumpur for further check-ups.

“We are investigating the matter further,” he said.

Following a Facebook post on the incident, Supt Nuzulan said a report on the incident was lodged on Friday and the investigations are being conducted under Section 427 of the Penal Code for committing mischief that causes loss or damage.

The post, which was uploaded on Friday, claimed that a mentally ill man had thrown a brick from the Imbi monorail station in the afternoon.

The brick landed on the car that was being driven by the poster’s boyfriend at the time, shattering the rear windscreen.
