Woman who claimed assault by actor boyfriend has withdrawn report, says police


PETALING JAYA: The woman who claimed that her actor boyfriend had assaulted her has withdrawn her police report, says Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Shahrulnizam Ja'afar.

"However, the investigation paper under Section 323 of the Penal Code has been referred to the Deputy Public Prosecutor (DPP) Any further action on the case will depend on instructions from the DPP," he said when contacted on Saturday (July 20).

The actor who allegedly attacked his girlfriend had his statement recorded by the police on July 10, when he came to give his statement at 9pm and was accompanied by his father.

Aside from him, a statement was also taken from the victim's sister.

It was previously reported that the complainant had lodged a police report at the Seapark police station after the attack on July 7.

It was alleged that the boyfriend punched the victim's right eye and body during an argument in his car after being scolded during an argument.

The case is classified under Section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt.
