Four boys detained for alleged rape of 11-year-old girl


IPOH: Police have apprehended four boys for allegedly taking turns to rape an 11-year-old girl near Teluk Intan.

Hilir Perak OCPD Asst Comm Ahmad Adnan Basri said a police report was lodged at the Langkap police station on July 18 at 12.26pm.

The suspects are aged 14 to 17.

He said according to the victim, the first and second suspects aged 16 and 14 respectively, took turns to rape her on July 17 at about 6.30pm inside a car, when she went out with them to a waterfall.

“The third suspect who is 17 had raped her on July 18 at about 8.30pm, when she followed him back home.

“The fourth suspect, also 17 raped the victim around midnight near some bushes, when both of them went for an outing,” he said in a statement on Friday (July 19).

ACP Ahmad Adnan said that based on the information received, between 3pm and 10pm on Thursday (July 18), the Hilir Perak district police headquarters’s Criminal Investigation Division managed to arrest the four at different locations within Teluk Intan to assist in the investigations.

“From the interrogations carried out, the suspects admitted to the crime.

“The first and third suspects aged 16 and 17 are not schooling, while the second and fourth suspects, aged 14 and 17 are still schooling.

“The four are from Teluk Intan and know one another,” he said.

The three have been remanded until July 21.

He advised parents to monitor the whereabouts of their children, especially on their daughters.

“Parents should know who their daughters are befriending and their whereabouts,” he added.
