Cops rescue Indonesian woman during raid in Kemensah


AMPANG: Police rescue a 41-year-old Indonesian woman following a raid at a house in Taman Tropika Kemensah here.

Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Azam Ismail said the woman was rescued at about 12.45am on Friday (July 12).

"We also detained a 45-year-old local woman. She has been remanded until Tuesday (July 16)," he said in a statement on Sunday (July 14).

The victim has since been placed at a shelter home," he said,

"We are investigating the case under Section 12 of the Anti-Trafficking in Persons and Anti-Smuggling of Migrants (Atipsom) 2007," he said.
