OKU dies in a fire which destroyed three houses in Sibu


SIBU: A person with disability was burnt to death as a fire destroyed three wooden houses in Kampung Bahagia Jaya on Wednesday (July 10).

The body of the victim, identified as Kong Kim Ngin, 52, was found near the door.

It was believed that she was trying to flee from the raging fire but failed.

According to the state Fire and Rescue Department, it received a distress call at 8.04am about the fire in the village.

"The three houses were completely destroyed, leaving 25 people homeless," it said
