Cops arrest four suspected burglars in Ampang

KUALA LUMPUR: Police have arrested four suspected burglars over a house break-in here.

Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Azam Ismail said that the arrests resulted from investigations into a case reported on May 24 involving a house break-in in Kampung Ampang Indah.

"At around 6pm on June 23, the police arrested three foreign men and a woman, aged 23 to 35 years old, in Kampung Tasik Permai for suspected links to the case.

"Their modus operandi included targeting empty houses. All suspects tested positive for methamphetamine and amphetamine, and one had a prior police record for a drug-related offence," he said in a statement on Tuesday (June 25).

He added that the thieves would also wear robes while breaking into the houses.

All four have been remanded until June 30.
