Ten-year-old girl found dead after falling into river in Johor


ISKANDAR PUTERI: A ten-year-old girl who has been missing after falling into a river has been found dead here.

Iskandar Puteri Fire and Rescue Department operations commander Saifulizam Salleh said they received a distressed call about a child falling into Sungai Gelang Patah here at about 5pm on Thursday (June 13).

"Upon receiving the call, we deployed nine firemen to the scene and launched a search and rescue operation.

"The child was found at about 5m away from where she was last seen at 9.07pm on the same day," he said in a statement here.

Meanwhile, Iskandar Puteri OCPD M. Kumarasan confirmed that the police had received the report.
