KUALA LUMPUR: The Federal Land Development Authority (Felda) says no land in Melaka under the agency has changed ownership or been sold to any party through transactions involving a syndicate.
In a statement on Wednesday (June 12), Felda also said that so far, none of its employees was involved in a case being investigated by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).
The syndicate allegedly sold 258.9ha of land, purportedly belonging to Felda, in Bukit Katil, Melaka.
"Felda will provide full cooperation to the authorities to ensure that the investigation can be carried out properly," the statement read.

On Tuesday (June 11), it was reported that MACC detained eight individuals in Kuala Lumpur and Sabah for bribery involving about RM2mil from a syndicate that sold Felda land in Melaka.
A MACC source said three brokers, a company director and two others, aged 20 to 50, acted as middlemen to give almost RM2mil in bribes to two bank officers.
The money was allegedly an inducement to approve the opening of bank accounts registered in Felda's name.
“The accounts had used Felda’s name to gain buyers’ trust and confidence that the sales transaction was genuine and indeed involved Felda, so they would make payments to the accounts.
“The action by the bank officers to (work) with the syndicate caused 260ha of Felda land worth RM400mil in Bukit Katil, Melaka to be sold last year,” the source was quoted as saying. – Bernama
