Missing man found drowned in Kuala Tenglu waters


MERSING: A man who went missing after looking for shellfish alone around Pantai Tenglu Laut here was found drowned on Tuesday afternoon (June 4).

Mersing police chief Supt Abdul Razak Abdullah Sani said the body of 21-year-old Hafiz Nursalam Ahmad was found in the waters of Kuala Tenglu, about five kilometres from where he was last seen.

"The victim, fully clothed, was discovered at 6.30 pm by members of the public involved in the search. Family members have positively identified the victim.

"The body was taken to Mersing Hospital,” he said in a statement on Tuesday night.

It was reported that Hafiz Nursalam, a local resident, often searched for shellfish in the vicinity but failed to return home after leaving at 10 am on Monday (June 3). – Bernama
