Elderly man burns to death in Ipoh car fire


IPOH: A 71-year-old man was found burnt to death in a fire involving a car at Laluan Sri Kuang 3, Desa Lasi here Wednesday (May 29) night.

Perak Fire and Rescue Department assistant operations director Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad said they received a call about the incident at 11.46pm, and a fire engine, along with eight firefighters, arrived at the scene 10 minutes later.

He said the fire involved a car, which was about 90% engulfed in flames.

"There was a charred body inside the vehicle. The firefighting operation ended at 2am,” he said in a statement. - Bernama
