Penang cops probing brawl allegedly involving former exco's son


GEORGE TOWN: Police are investigating a recent brawl at a café on Jalan Sultan Ahmad Shah here involving several individuals, one of them allegedly the son of a former Penang exco member.

North-East District OCPD Asst Comm Razlam Ab Hamid said reports had been lodged by both sides involved in the May 11 incident.

"No arrests have been made yet. The investigation is ongoing under Section 323 of the Penal Code," he said on Tuesday (May 21).

A viral 43-second video clip shows a fight involving several individuals, including two women.

The altercation occurs when an 18-year-old man buying a drink at the cafe is approached by two men and a woman and is then hit in the face without provocation.

It is understood that one of the individuals involved is the son of a former executive councillor who served in the state government from 1999 to 2018. – Bernama
