Cops nab two suspected motorcycle thieves

KUALA LUMPUR: Two alleged motorcycle thieves have been caught after a man found that his vehicle had gone missing overnight.

Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Azam Ismail said the complainant had parked the motorcycle outside an apartment in Lembah Jaya Utara on Sunday (May 12).

The next morning, the man realised the vehicle was missing and lodged a report, ACP Azam said in a statement on Friday (May 17).

"At around 2.30am on Wednesday (May 15), a police team arrested a man in a housing project in Teluk Intan, Perak.

"Following the arrest, they were led to a house in Kampung Lembah Jaya in Ampang where another man was arrested at around 6am," he said.

Both suspects tested negative for drugs and did not have criminal records, he added.

They have been remanded until today to help with the investigation, ACP Azam said.
