Penang cops appeal for info on underwear thief in Balik Pulau


BALIK PULAU: The police are appealing to the public for assistance in locating a man who stole a woman's undergarments from a clothesline at a residence in Titi Teras.

Balik Pulau OCPD Supt Kamarul Rizal Jenal said that a 32-year-old woman lodged a report on Tuesday (May 14), claiming that her undergarments had gone missing from the clothesline outside her house.

"Upon realising that they were missing from the clothesline, the complainant checked the closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage.

"In the footage, an unidentified man was seen taking the complainant's undergarments and leaving on a motorcycle," he said in a statement Wednesday (May 15).

Kamarul Rizal stated that the case is being investigated under Section 379 of the Penal Code, and urged anyone with information to contact the nearest police station to assist in the investigation.

A 60-second video clip went viral recently, showing a man wearing a helmet climbing over the fence of a house and stealing women's undergarments from a clothesline before fleeing on a motorcycle. - Bernama
