Fireman hit by breathing issue while putting out fire in Tawau


KOTA KINABALU: A 51-year-old fireman suffered a brief breathing issue while putting out fire at a squatter colony in Kg Sentosa, Tawau district, early Thursday (May 9).

Rosliee Suyut had to stop putting out the fire and receive treatment before he felt well enough to continue.

Sabah Fire and Rescue Department officials said that in the 8.30am fire, a total of four semi-concrete structures were destroyed.

The fire was brought under control at 9.45am, while clearing up efforts and other follow up operations involving 28 personnel are ongoing.

No one else was reported injured thus far.
