Teen motorcyclist dies after crashing into pole in Pasir Gudang


PASIR GUDANG: A 17-year-old male teenager was killed after his motorcycle crashed into a pole at Jalan Izora, Taman Kota Masai, here on Sunday (May 5).

Seri Alam OCPD Supt Mohd Sohaimi Ishak said the incident occurred at 9.30pm Sunday when the victim was heading towards Jalan Bestari Perdana.

“The victim is believed to have lost control of his motorcycle and crashed into a pole on the left side of the road.

“The impact caused the victim to be flung and suffer serious injuries,” he said in a statement here Monday (May 6).

Supt Sohaimi said that the victim was pronounced dead at the location, and the body has been brought to Sultan Ismail Hospital (HSI) for a postmortem.

“We would like to remind members of the public to always adhere to the road regulations and to always be extra careful when travelling during peak hours,” he said.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road and Transport Act of 1987.
